The Flower Alphabet – A is for Anemone

anemone

This is a little series I started on my previous blog and was such a firm favourite with Brides I want to continue it on Juno & Joy…

Fast becoming one of my favourite flowers the Anemone is a statement bloom – it commands attention despite it being so delicate, largely due to it’s inky black centre. Most readily available in the UK from November to May and in an array of colours ranging from magenta to white, it’s season is nearly through *blub* but that’s also what makes seasonal flowers so magical for me…I can re-love them when their back in abundance!

I adore seeing them paired blousy blooms such as peonies and rununculas (they’re from the same family) most especially when pale blush tones are used…oh and don’t get me started on anemones within a monochrome scheme – I die!

Are you a fan?
