A Stylish Country Wedding With Statement Florals

feature Helen lisk

Another day, another beautiful wedding and today’s is from my own home turf, featuring some wonderful wedding industry friends of mine! Helen and Rich were in the privileged position of having a close family member who is also a celebrated photographer (Sarah Lauren) who put them in touch with Helen Lisk Photography and all the other talented people that assisted in making this wedding the stunner that it is. A relaxed celebration it’s country elegance personified – from the simply stylish wedding gown to the statement bridesmaid dresses and purple-hued blooms it’s seriously swoon-worthy…

From Bride Helen: My dress was handmade by Sara Radford in Exmouth – I couldn’t find anything simple in the shops, so I put a design together using ideas from various dresses that I liked and Sara made it. Earrings were Rich’s Nan’s (no longer with us), the pearl Thomas Sabo bracelet was a present from my bridesmaids, my engagement ring was from Preston and Duckworth (Guildford, Surrey) and the wedding rings were handmade by Jackie Van Heesewijk (Surrey). Rich’s ring was made from melting down his Nan’s wedding ring!

We used Jenny Rose as our florist – she was brilliant. Neither of us know anything about flowers and I wasn’t even sure I wanted any, but my mum insisted. We showed her a picture of the bridesmaid dresses and told her to do what she liked with local seasonal flowers.

Rosie from Kia-Ora Farm and Gardens made cupcakes and swiss rolls for our wedding cake. We had a wedding after-party cream tea at Kia-Ora the next day.
