Some of you may remember Emelie & Alan’s beautiful nautical themed engagement shoot that we featured a few weeks ago. Captured by the uber talented Alex May Photography I’m so pleased to be publishing their stunning wedding today. The pair met on a sailing holiday, with Swedish Emelie eventually moving over to Fowey in Cornwall to be with her beloved. Their love of the water resonates in so many details of their day which was created to highlight the joy of their families and cultures (half of Alan’s family is from Dominican Republic) uniting. It’s a truly beautiful and highly personal celebration. Be sure to cast your eyes over the narrative from the bride – really very moving how much effort was put into this day by those who love them.
From Bride Emelie: What really made our day extra special was the unbelievable support from our family and friends. They were there from the moment we started planning our big day and they are still here now helping us tie the last bits together. We still can’t believe that so many people travelled so far to support us…
…We also can’t believe that they without our knowledge laid on a Bentley wedding car to take us to the wedding reception, had a choir sing for us in the church, dressed up as pirates and kidnapped us as we were going to the reception, hired a plane to do a flyby whilst towing a banner reading “Good Luck Emelie and Alan”, and made us a slideshow of photos for the “chill out room” at the venue. They all mean the world to us and we can’t thank them enough for being there for us.
You really get a sense of this couple’s shared loves and personality in every single snapshot of the day…Great work from Alex for capturing those moments and it also goes to show just how successful your wedding design can be by taking inspiration from yourselves.
Plus it features real Pirates. How cool. Only in Cornwall eh…
An absolute pleasure to feature! Have you been inspired?
