Today’s real wedding ticks so many of the “I covet” boxes for me. Captured by destination wedding photographer (and our sponsor) Frances Carlisle - this is a relaxed, simple and very gorgeous celebration which took place on Valentine’s Day at the Lavandula Swiss Italian Farm, Hepburn Springs, Australia…gosh, it even sounds beautiful!
I fell in love with it’s laid back luxe European feel - well Bride Bella was raised partly in Denmark - and the fact it’s almost effortless in it’s simple yet elegant styling. Goes to show how investment in the right places teamed with plenty of personality and “shared loves” always equates to a beautiful and heartfelt wedding celebration.

From Frances: A wedding with family at the heart of the celebration - Adam is British, Bella is Danish/Australian. They met a couple of years ago in Melbourne, although both have been living there for some time. Adam’s parents and best friends flew in from the UK, his two children were there - his daughter scattered petals down the aisle. They wanted as intimate and relaxed an atmosphere as possible, with their friends and family taking part in pivitol roles - Bella’s friend made the flower arrangements from local flowers and collected jars and vases, Adam’s brother was his best man, Bella’s sister her bridesmaid; they chose & brought in the wines themselves; all Adam’s family was present at the Villa during the getting ready stages - in fact Adam was still there right up until a couple of hours before the wedding! The wedding breakfast was under the trees and lanterns, with an antipasto buffet to start things off.
They say their whole relationship has been blessed with good luck and just taking things as they come - and true to that, they’d planned a perfect outdoors wedding and didn’t order a gazebo for the ceremony until the day before, when all the worlds weather forecasts predicted a 24 hour epic thunderstorm. The storm was torrential, and disappeared just a few hours before their wedding. It returned the day after - it literally took a break for their wedding to happen!
Can’t you just smell the heady scent of that lavender on a balmy eve? Love it.
