I know I’m always harping on about keeping weddings personal (and therefore effortlessly stylish as it’ll be a perfect representation of your tastes) …well today’s real wedding feature is no exception. Tom and Soph’s created a day that’s so creative and personal I guarantee by the end of swooning over it you’ll feel like you know them personally. Something photographer Rebecca Douglas can brag of for she went to school with the groom and his brother! The ultimate DIY wedding – from the finer details such a the flowers, created by Tom’s mum…to the table plan, sweet trees and beyond – all hand crafted and curated by either the couple themselves or their nearest and dearest…even the minister was a close friend!
From Bride Soph: “The whole wedding was DIY, from the flowers to the table decorations (sweet trees) which me and my mum built and then decorated ourselves! The table plan was a mirror from our flat and the sweet trolley was made by a couple at church. Other bits like the post box and frame with special dates were made by my sister and dad. I called our wedding the “Pinterest wedding” as ALL my ideas came from there and we then went a created it all ourselves! It made it cheaper but also far more personal and meant we could have exactly what we wanted. It’s not the most conventional way of doing things, but time was in our side and I wanted the wedding to show off our favourite things…Mainly gingerbread! The wedding invites were our most satisfying craft of the wedding as they signify a special moment – I travelled down to Margate where Toms mum and sister, and my mum all sat down and we made them together!”
Such pretty details…and did they ever find the time to make them all?!
