Urban Revolution – A Masculine Styled Wedding Shoot

featured

Today’s offering is such a breath of fresh air – a styled shoot featuring a same sex couple. Yes! This Bride-less shoot is was the brain-child of the highly innovative Hartfrod Prints! and Whim Events who collaborated to create a directional inspiration that’s urban, masculine and minimalist…

“We knew we wanted to style it as a gay wedding, conceptualizing our grooms as lovers of the place where raw space, design, and style all meet. We envisioned our two grooms, Jonathan & Noel, as urban hipsters, rocking handmade denim and made-to-measure suits at their wedding, while rocking out to Black Star on the dance floor! We planned a two-location inspiration shoot – an engagement session inside the studios of Hartford Denim Company and a ceremony & reception inside an old factory space.”

A relaxed affair centred around five themes Fancy, Flight, Fete, Fed, and Footloose, the colour palette consists of  blood orange, sea blue, steel grey, and charcoal.

*Star styling idea* The guest book also doubles up as a table plan. Under the guise of a “Bow Tie Bar” guests would be encouraged to choose a bow-tie, take a polaroid of themselves and replace their name card with the snap – which then serves as a momento for the happy couple. Brilliant!

“More and more couples are steering away from the “expected” and truly want their wedding to reflect their personal and unique style. We encourage every bride or groom to do something at their wedding that “revolutionizes” the norm and captures who they are. We loved working on every single moment of this inspiration shoot.”

That last statement is music to my ears! Amen to that!

What a fantastic shoot – the attention to detail is second-to-none. So much of it can be used within the context of a real wedding which is precisely how wedding inspiration should work. Love.It.All.
