There are so many elements of Rebecca and Andy’s wedding which I adore, the travel theme inspired by a Tiffany blue save-the-date card, gorgeous Candy Anthony wedding dress, floral Vivien of Holloway bridesmaid gowns…and the blue Louboutins! A riot of colour and personality from Pavone Photography – take a peek…
I always knew I wanted a 1950s tea length dress so when I visited Candy Anthony I just knew I would get it from there. I wasn’t expecting it to be the first one I tried on! Hazel at CA had to really persuade me to try on others to make sure it was “the one”. I also had an adorable lace hat with a bow and birdcage veil. I would wear it every day if I could! My hair was styled by Shelley at The Hair Boutique, she created an amazing style from lots of photos I brought to her. It fitted my look perfectly. I wore simple pearl earrings and a pearl bracelet which Andy sent to my room on the morning. I also rocked some fabulous Louboutins in turquoise which were shipped overnight from Italy (They were the last pair in the world in my size! Meant to be!)
My gorgeous bridesmaids wore fantastic floral dresses by Vivien of Holloway with petticoats and personalised name necklaces. I just adore their dresses! Shelley also did their hair in different styles but in keeping with the 50s look. My husband and his boys all wore stunning suits from Jack Bunney’s which looked amazing. I love the slim fit look and Andy looked very handsome! I bought him a pair of map cufflinks to wear on the day, one with Hangzhou in China where we were engaged, and one of Cambridge.
Once we had decided on the travel theme, it just took on a life of its own! I became obsessed looking for tiffany blue ribbons, making map bunting, and cutting out thousands and thousands of heart confetti from old maps which I bought from eBay. My lovely parents were very kind to assist with this, spending their evenings punching hearts! As favours we gave each guest a flag from somewhere in the world which had meaning for them. That was really fun! I stamped each guests name onto a luggage tag which doubled as their placecard.
Andy planned our Honeymoon and we head off on an American Road trip on Route 66 so I made a Route 66 guest book. It was on a table with lots of silly props and an instant camera for guests to take photos and stick them in. it was a massive success and we have some hilarious photos!
Our invitations were designed by an incredible designer Do It Yourself who makes customised wedding stationery and then sends you the electronic file to print. Our invitations were in the style of a boarding card, inside a passport and map of the venue. She also created a mind blowing seating chart in the style of a plan which the guests loved.
Completely in love with those Vivien of Holloway floral print dresses…and don’t get me started on Rebecca’s Candy Anthony number! It’s lovely to see such colour…
You love it too right?
