A Handcrafted Travel Inspired Wedding

A small and intimate handcrafted celebration Flo and Oli’s travel inspired wedding is such an honest reflection of their shared life together both in the UK and Guatemala where they now call home. With breath-taking DIY touches throughout, most notably the incredible paper cranes Flo made as a nod to her Japanese heritage, personality oozes from every single frame – captured here so beautifully by Daniel Lopez Perez Photography

From Flo: We wanted a really relaxed, informal gathering of all of our family and close friends. Nothing formal or too lavish; the flowers were picked from my Mum’s garden and We had traditional Japanese tatami mats that my uncle sent over from japan as part of the center pieces. I made over a hundred paper roses from map paper and sheet music for the tables centres, my bouquet and the bridesmaids flowers and I also made 1000 paper cranes, which traditionally bring good fortune.

My mum made our three tiered cake, chocolate, lemon and carrot and food was provided by Barnsdale lodge where we had our reception. The groom and the ushers and best men wore button holes made with paper flowers and real flowers and they had Guatemalan fabric pocket squares. We had worry dolls for all the guests as favours (from Guatemala of course)
and my dad made a big polaroid frame thing which was fun for all the guests to take photos in…we had a blast and lived happily ever after!

Effortlessly stylish!
