Today we’re sharing an oh-so-chic wedding hair tutorial by one of our J&J Collective members Creative Wedding Hair. Stylist Claire has a lot of Brides requesting relaxed “up-do’s” with lots of texture, so thought it would be beneficial to create a how-to for those wanting a point of reference for their own wedding hair stylist – or for those who’d perhaps like a friend to re-create the look for them on their big day. We’ve tried to keep it simple – with as few steps as possible so you can follow the tutorial easily…
What you will need: Pin Tail Comb//Dressing out brush (thin headed brush)//Military comb//Sectioning clips//Snap bands & kirby grips. The products used were: Davines Shimmering Mist//Davines Strong Hairspray//Davines Curl Building Serum.
Step 1. Curl full head of hair into 2 inch big & bouncy curls. Keep spraying lightly with hairspray and run fingers through hair to loosen curls.
Step 2. Divide into 3 sections (crown to ear) and split back section into 2. Pin top half up and ponytail bottom half.
Step 3. Using tail comb, back-comb the hair loosely and pin into place with kirby grips.
Step 4. Split top section of hair in half (vertically) twist sections, cross over and pin.
Section 5. take one side section and half it – clip the top part out of the way and loosely plait the rest. Pin plait over the top of the loose bun. Repeat process on remaining side section of hair. Let down the last sections and either sweep behind ears or pin and sculpture as preferred.
Adorn with flowers, brooch or keep it au naturale – a voilà!
With thanks to Claire and her team at Creative Wedding Hair.
