It’s a privilege to open every single submission we receive for Juno & Joy – for those who’ve sent them, whether it’s a photographer, stylist of couple have done so knowing they’ll be sharing some degree of intimacy on here…their treasured work or their treasured celebration. Precious moments captured in time.
Today’s bridal boudoir shoot is really very special for that precise reason. For not only has photographer Jess Petrie offered us her beautiful work to share but bride Rebecca has given it her blessing and that’s truly very flattering, especially given how nervous she initially was about taking part in a shoot. Here Rebecca shares her thoughts on the beauty of bridal boudoir…
It was Jonny, my fiancé that initially spurred me on to do the boudoir shoot! He not only thought it would be an unforgettable liberating experience for myself, but something we could both look back on in years to come…
I never thought I would look at myself in this way, a new light, another box ticked.
Overcoming my nerves, leaving my inhibitions at the door was daunting to say the least. Jess’ calm demeanour and relaxed approach (plus a glass of prosecco!) allowed me to start enjoying and get into the swing of things.
All the pictures are mind-blowingly good, whilst tastefully done and I cannot wait to hand the photo book Jess has created to my ‘husband to be’ the night before the wedding!!
…Who would have thought…’little Rebecca Smith’ doing a sexy shoot!! I can’t thank Jess enough…and I’m more than sure Jonny will agree 🙂
Lucky Jonny! Just breath-taking. We were so excited to hear around 70% of Jess’ clients take part in a bridal boudoir shoot – we truly believe it’s a wonderful way to gain confidence in front of the camera at a time that’s so special.
