A beautiful conceptual piece by some of the UK wedding industry’s most celebrated suppliers I pretty much fell off my chair when I received today’s offering. Yes I admit to being a super-fan of all those attached - why? Because they’re all darn good at their jobs - and even better - they’re crazy passionate too, which is all you could ever want from someone assisting you with your wedding day vision.
This creative team took their lead from a piece of writing penned by The Wedding Reporter - the wedding worlds very own Emma Woodhouse…
“Whether he wounds her or favours her, she will go on loving him. Whether he tears up her heart and leaves it to flutter on the wind, she will love him. Whether the world ceases to turn, she will continue to seek him out - to love him, honour him, comfort and protect him. Though he will never come, her love will run ever deeper; the scars of her heart will become cavernous as shadows dance across her soul…”
…Yes it is about a modern Miss Haversham - a heartbroken jilted bride who descends into madness - but as with any styled shoot it’s was an opportunity for all involved to flex their creative muscles, challenge the “norm” and offer snippets of inspiration that might give you planning brides a “eureka” moment. As the shoot’s stylist Alexandra of The Bijou Bride states “the overall look, and certainly being left at the alter, isn’t something a bride would want but the odd element such as a fashion forward feathered skirt or an illustrated scroll place setting may just inspire future brides to be.”
I for one love the concept and it’s boundary pushing - the contrasting palette of rich and muted tones which are so en vogue, the mix of textures - luxe fabrics, ostrich feathers (well if they’re good enough for Olivia Palermo…) and high shine statements (OMG that final head-piece!) and the transformation from fresh faced bride to red-lipped vixen; perfect day-to-night inspiration…
Pop back tomorrow and you can see the film this talented team created to accompany the shoot - it’s beautiful - like an epic music video goosebumps are sure to ensue!
