A WINTER WEDDING ON LAKE WINDERMERE - Juno and Joy

A WINTER WEDDING ON LAKE WINDERMERE

Happy Thursday All! As promised today’s feature follows on from yesterdays beautiful destination engagement shoot on the Amalfi Coast by Ruth Atkinson Photography. Rosie & Adam, friends of Ruth got married in the depths of winter against the backdrop of beautiful Lake Windermere and celebrated with a relaxed and seasonal wedding with design details inspired by their surroundings.

From bride Rosie: We both have quite a laid back style and didn’t want anything too fussy. We chose to keep the theme low key choosing pinks and purples to add colour alongside tweed…

Rosie on flowers: I chose a florist from my home town who had also done the flowers for my sister’s wedding. I wasn’t sure what flowers I wanted or would be in season in December. When I met with Roz the florist I took along a picture that I had found on Pintrest and asked her if she would be able to recreate it. She did an amazing job and it fitted in so well with the tweed and dress.

Rosie on favours: We had Grasmere Gingerbread for our wedding favours. As we both come from the Lake district we wanted to choose something local and the gingerbread is always a hit!

There;s something very cool and very British about this wedding…I think it’s the relaxed, good humoured vibe it has – along with the most breath-taking backdrop and seasonal colour palette. Blinkin love it!

I love that the bride picked out a cozy tweed blazer to go over her gown – she looks lovely (and warm)!
