Today we’re featuring another instalment of our seasonal wedding bouquet recipes by Joanne Truby Floral Design…and I can’t believe we’re at summer already?! How time flies…Featuring rich and vibrant purple hues, perfect for a blue palette and purple palette wedding, this pretty bouquet is uber feminine. Over to Joanne for a little narrative on what inspired her:
Summer, you beautiful, warm sunny season & to accompany this wonderful medley lots of gorgeous summer flowers which are season too! Some of which I have used in this bouquet; Scabiosa which are available in a lilac/blue tone and white, the delicate Nigella available in powder blue & white. Other seasonal summer flowers include dahlia’s which come in a huge array of different colours & sizes. I spotted some at the market last week which were humongous their head size was bigger then my own head! Snap dragons and delphiniums which are great for larger urn style arrangements. Lots of lush scented herbs are also available in the summer; flowering mint as used in this bouquet and lavender (my personal all time favourite scent) not only are they fragrant but herbs also add a delicate interest to a design, particularly if you’re thinking of having a relaxed summer garden party style wedding. Lavender also adds a lovely touch to bridal party arrangements such as button holes and flower crowns.
I love the delicate scabiosa and nigella and can only imagine how fragrant it smells!
